Apothecary Contemporary Art is pleased to announce it’s third exhibition titled Fickett byAndrew O’Brien. Beginning with the legacy of Los Angeles based architect, EdwardH. Fickett (b. 1916 d. 1999), Andrew O’Brien investigates psychological trauma as a symptom of the archive in modern culture through an installation of objects and photographs. After the death of Fickett in 1999, his office sat vacant and untouched, carefully preserved by his widow for over a decade. Only financial strain and the threat of evictioncould force the release of his drawings, models and documents to the special collections of the University of Southern California in the spring of 2010. Andrew O’Brien is an artist and professor of art at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he teaches photography and graphic design. He recently moved to Chattanooga from Los Angeles. O’Brien holds a Masters of Fine Arts degree from the University of Oregon.
